Jesus Christ Will Descend To Jerusalem For The Wedding Supper Of The Lamb

The Feast of Tabernacles is also known as the Feast of Ingathering and Sukkot, and is the Marriage of Jesus Christ and the Bride of Jesus Christ.  The Feast of Tabernacles contains the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Ingathering.

The Feast of Trumpets will announce the arrival of the Bridegroom at the Seventh Trumpet, Jesus Christ's coming Marriage to the Bride of Jesus Christ on the Day of Atonement, to be followed by the Wedding Supper of the LambThe Feast of Trumpets will also announce the beginning of a new civil year - the beginning of the Millennial Reign of Jesus Christ on earth.  The Marriage of Jesus Christ and the Bride of Jesus Christ will occur on the Day of Atonement, when God and man become one (At-One-Ment).  Following the Marriage of Jesus Christ and His Bride on the Day of Atonement, there will be the Wedding Supper of the Lamb at the Feast of Ingathering.

Psalm 45: 1-17  (NIV) For the director of music. To the tune of "Lilies." Of the Sons of Korah. A maskil.  A wedding song.  My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.  You are the most excellent of men and your lips have been anointed with grace, since God has blessed you forever.  Gird your sword upon your side, O mighty one; clothe yourself with splendor and majesty.  In your majesty ride forth victoriously in behalf of truth, humility and righteousness; let your right hand display awesome deeds.  Let your sharp arrows pierce the hearts of the king's enemies; let the nations fall beneath your feet.  Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.  You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.  All your robes are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia; from palaces adorned with ivory the music of the strings makes you glad.  Daughters of kings are among your honored women; at your right hand is the royal bride in gold of Ophir.  Listen, O daughter, consider and give ear: Forget your people and your father's house.  The king is enthralled by your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord.  The Daughter of Tyre will come with a gift, men of wealth will seek your favor.  All glorious is the princess within her chamber; her gown is interwoven with gold.  In embroidered garments she is led to the king; her virgin companions follow her and are brought to you.  They are led in with joy and gladness; they enter the palace of the king.  Your sons will take the place of your fathers; you will make them princes throughout the land.  I will perpetuate your memory through all generations; therefore the nations will praise you for ever and ever.

Song of Solomon 3:1-11 (NIV)  All night long on my bed I looked for the one my heart loves; I looked for him but did not find him.  I will get up now and go about the city, through its streets and squares; I will search for the one my heart loves. So I looked for him but did not find him.  The watchmen found me as they made their rounds in the city.  "Have you seen the one my heart loves?"  Scarcely had I passed them when I found the one my heart loves.  I held him and would not let him go till I had brought him to my mother's house, to the room of the one who conceived me.  Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you by the gazelles and by the does of the field: Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires.  Who is this coming up from the desert like a column of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and incense made from all the spices of the merchant?  Look! It is Solomon's carriage, escorted by sixty warriors, the noblest of Israel, all of them wearing the sword, all experienced in battle, each with his sword at his side, prepared for the terrors of the night.  King Solomon made for himself the carriage; he made it of wood from Lebanon.  Its posts he made of silver, its base of gold. Its seat was upholstered with purple, its interior lovingly inlaid by the daughters of Jerusalem.  Come out, you daughters of Zion, and look at King Solomon wearing the crown, the crown with which his mother crowned him on the day of his wedding, the day his heart rejoiced.

Revelation 19:11-16 (NIV)  I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter."  He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: king of kings and lord of lords.

2 Corinthians 11:2 (NIV) I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him.

Ephesians 5:23-32 (NIV) For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church-- 30 for we are members of his body. 31 "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." 32 This is a profound mystery--but I am talking about Christ and the church.

The Feast of Ingathering is the Wedding Supper of the Lamb.

Revelation 19:6-9 (NIV)  Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: "Hallelujah!  For our Lord God Almighty reigns.  Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory!  For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself readyFine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear."  (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the saints.)  Then the angel said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!' "  And he added, "These are the true words of God."

Isaiah 25:6-9 (NIV) On this mountain the LORD Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine-- the best of meats and the finest of wines. 7 On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; 8 he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove the disgrace of his people from all the earth. The LORD has spoken. 9 In that day they will say, "Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the LORD, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation."

Matthew 22:1-14 (NIV) Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son.  He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come.  "Then he sent some more servants and said, 'Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.'  "But they paid no attention and went off--one to his field, another to his business.  The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them.  The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city.  "Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come.  Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.'  So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, both good and bad, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.  "But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes.  'Friend,' he asked, 'how did you get in here without wedding clothes?' The man was speechless.  "Then the king told the attendants, 'Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'  "For many are invited, but few are chosen."

Matthew 25:1-13 (NIV)  "At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.  Five of them were foolish and five were wise.  The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them.  The wise, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps.  The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.  "At midnight the cry rang out: 'Here's the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!'  "Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps.  The foolish ones said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.'  " 'No,' they replied, 'there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.'  "But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.  "Later the others also came. 'Sir! Sir!' they said. 'Open the door for us!'  "But he replied, 'I tell you the truth, I don't know you.'  "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour."

Luke 12:35-40 (NIV)  "Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, like men waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him.  It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. I tell you the truth, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them.  It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the second or third watch of the night.  But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into.  You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him."

Luke 13:29 (NIV)  "People will come from east and west and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God."

To the skeptics who would point out that no preparations have been made in Jerusalem for the Wedding Supper of the Lamb, I would ask you to consider the miracle of the five loaves of bread and two fish (Matthew 14:15-21, Mark 6:35-44, Luke 9:12-17, John 6:5-13); the miracle of the seven loaves of bread and a few small fish (Matthew 15:32-38, Mark 8:1-9), and the first miracle of Jesus Christ which occurred at the wedding banquet, when He turned water into wine (John 2:1-11).

John 2:1-11 (NIV)  On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus' mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding.  When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no more wine." "Dear woman, why do you involve me?" Jesus replied. "My time has not yet come."  His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you."  Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.  Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim.  Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet."  They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, "Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now."  This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed at Cana in Galilee.
